NEC Unveils TWINPOS3500G1-The New Compact Touch Screen POS Terminal

NEC Corporation of Malaysia, a total solutions provider for a comprehensive range of NEC’s IT, networking and telecommunications, as well as display technologies, has introduced the new Compact Touch Screen POS Terminal, namely TWINPOS3500G1 at Nikko Hotel, Kuala Lumpur recently.

Claimed as the space saving design (with 292 x 203mm footprint), as it only occupies 45% of conventional touch screen POS Terminals, this new generation POS Terminal(with 2.5GB flash storage runs with zero spindle architecture) is the most advanced one touch-panel screen equipped with flash memory that delivers lesser hardware breakdowns and enhanced energy-saving. Its metal-frame configuration delivers a robust structure to withstand external pressure such as temperature, water spill and dust. Its enhanced connectivity, enables connection to USB 2.0 and RS-232C.

Powered by ULV Celeron M 600Mhz with a memory of 512MB DDR SDRAM, TWINPOS3500G1 has a SATA40GB HDD or 2.5GB flash storage. The new model comes with a 12.1-inch SVGA full colour TFT touch panel display and consume a mere 60W (max) power.

In conjunction with launch of the new POS Terminal, NEC Corporation Malaysia also held its signing ceremony with Best Denki Malaysia Sdn. Bhd, a giant electronics retailing store in Japan as well as overseas. With the completion of signing, Best Denki Malaysia has opted for NEC Corporation of Malaysia latest compact touch screen Point-of-Sale (POS) terminal (TWINPOS3500G1) to be implemented at all its 13 retail outlets in Malaysia, including its latest branch at Plaza Gurney and two more new outlets by end of this year.

Mr. Kazuhiro Kakura, Managing Director of Best Denki Malaysia Sdn Bhd commented,” In line with technology progress, Best Denki as an electronics retailer, is also moving towards improving our operational efficiency with the installation of the latest POS termionals, which will bring about a greater shopping experience for our customers”.

Meanwhile, Mr. Daisaku Takeuchi, Managing Director of NEC Corporation of Malaysia Sdn. L’Oreal Colour Trophy- The French ” Oscars of Hairdressing” Extravaganza

Hailed as the ‘Oscar of the Hairdressing Industry’, the L’Oreal Colour Trophy Award 2008 is in its seventh year of celebration. The most impressive and remarkable hair creations which set the modern and unexpected twist of classical trends to the French sense of beauty, Gala event was held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre recently.

Honourable guests, VIPs, celebrities and members from the media were treated a variety creations of innovative hairstyle themed AVENGER “THRILLER” by our very homegrown L’Oreal Professionel Artistic Ambassadors such as, Albert Nico, Andy Chan, Simon Koh, Miko Au and Kevin Woo.

The latest five Malaysian L’Oreal Ambassadors have highlighted their interpretation of this year’s theme on Asian beauty, a real tribute to Malaysian creativity.

L’Oreal Managing Director, Mr. Jean Francois Couve presenting a bouquet to L’Oreal PROFESSIONEL ARTISTIC AMBASSADOR, Mr. Albert Nico and Mr. Simon Koh. Later in the evening 12 finalists of L’Oreal Colour Trophy Award were given opportunity to parade their ultimate creations of hairstyle.

F01-Mr.Max Chang Yang Leong of Max Style Hair Saloon & Academy, believes that in order to realise his dream to emerge the winner, he needs to be 100% confident and put in 100% of hardwork. While, F02-Mr.Ken Liew Mun Leong of Kimarie Salon and Academy, always believes in different looks for different people and one thing that should take priority is the manageability of the hairstyle.

F03-Mr. Keanu Ting Chor Hoa of Andy Chan Hair Studio, loves things that are related to ‘beauty’ and thus, creating a new hairstyle, by making his customers look beautiful and the satisfaction in their faces drive Keanu to achieve even more. While, F04- Mr. Soo Kia Jep of A Cut Above, Pavilion, believes “Practise Makes Perfect” will enables him to be a successful hairstylist.

F05-Mr. Edmund Goh Hock Hock of Fu Coiffure Hair Salon & Spa, hopes that this competition will be a platform for him to challenge himself to achieve self-peak and hope that his creation will become an ideal hairstyle for every female in future. While, F06- Miss Natalie Yen Suh Huey of Cutting Edge Hair & Beauty Studio, aims to create an effortlessly beautiful image that will be complemented with an ultra-fashionable outfit.

F07-Miss Celine Yap Chui Yee of Centro Hair Salon, hopes to share her creativity and achieve higher level in her career by winning this L’Oreal Colour Trophy Award 2008. While, F08-Mr. Ng Chee Keong of Elle Hair Academy, believes that one hairstyle presents unlimited culture, that allows unlimited creativity and rooms to explore one’s talents.

F11-Mr. James Chin Fan Seng of Andy Chan Hair Studio, believes there is unlimited creativity in hairdressing industry as long as one continues to express with passion and determination. While, F12- Mr. Loong Teng Choon of Shawn Cutler, likes to participate in competitions because by doing so, he feels motivated to improve and share his creativity while at the same time getting recognition for his hardwork and talent.

Twelve finalists have expressed a colour statement that is modern, highlight cutting edge which reflects the new season’s trend and ultimately leads the future hair trends for the year 2008 and beyond.

Twelve Finalists of L’Oreal Colour Trophy’s hairstyle creations were decided by panel of judges, like Datuk Bernard Chandran, a renowned fashion designer; Grace Lee (Editor-in-chief, Nuyou Singapore; Monica Lee (renowned make-up artist), Royston Blythe, International guest artist; Luisa Barberis, Estetica Italy Representative and Govin, Taiwan Artistic Ambassador.
