Nikon Malaysia Introduces Versatile D90 and 5 New Coolpix Compacts

In gaining upper ground to capture local market, Nikon (Malaysia) Sendirian Berhad has launched 5 new Coolpix compact cameras and the extreme functionality D90 Digital SLR recently. Present at the event were, Mr. Stephen S.T. Ng, Nikon’s Malaysia General Manager, Consumer Products Department and Mr. David Ng, Nikon’s Malaysia Marketing Manager.

Equipped with 10MP, Touch panel, 5 times optical zoom-NIKKOR lens, 3.5-inch LCD, Scene Selector, Touch Motion Detection Anti-Shake AE/Face-priority AF control and makro close up of 9cm from the subject, the Coolpix S60 also features touch-screen interface that enables fingertip shooting control and Smile Mode that automatically releases the shutter when the selected subject smiles. Nikon Coolpix S60 retails at RM1,288.

Claimed as the world’s most compact design with a stainless steel surface as well as comfortable thumb rest, the Coolpix S710 features a massive 14.5 megapixel resolution (MP) to capture the finest details, 3.6x Zoom-NIKKOR lens with 28mm wide-angle capability, optical lens shift VR image stabilization, 3.0-inch high resolution LCD, light sensitivity range up to ISO 12,800 to take sharper, more natural-looking photos in lower light conditions or to capture fast-moving subjects with extreme clarity. Nikon Coolpix S710 retails at RM1,088.

Featuring the world’s fastest start-up time of a mere 0.7 seconds, the optimized performance of the Coolpix S610c & S610 allow users to capture subjects at an unbeatable speed. The S610c and S610 is enhanced with 10MP, 4 times Zoom-NIKKOR with 28mm wide-angle capability, 3.0-inch high-resolution wide-viewing angle LCD monitor, Scene Auto Selector. The S610c is equipped with the world’s first implementation of WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) to allow wireless connection via Nikon’s my Picturetown Internet services directly to photos storage automatically and Picture Bank, or upload directly to blogs and websites for easy posting. Nikon Coolpix S610 retails at RM1,048.

Packed with an extremely swift response and advanced functions, the Coolpix S560 is equipped with 10MP clarity, 2.7-inch LCD monitor with anti-reflection coating, ISO3200, Face-priority AF, and 5x Zoom-NIKKOR lens to produce quality image and delivers creative telephoto focal range as well as macro shooting ability from as close as 10cm (4 inch) to the subject. Coolpix S560 retails at RM888.

To create high performance of imaging brilliance, P6000 is the first Coolpix that can record images in RAW format and has a built-in GPS unit to record exact location the image was captured, including the longtitude and latitude “geotags”. Intergrated with 13.5 MP, optical viewfinder, 2.7-inch LCD monitor with anti-reflection coating, optical lens shift VR image stabilization, manual focus, ISO 6400 capability, wireless remote control ML-L3 for wireless shutter release, and distortion control, the Coolpix P6000 is able to expand its focal range to 21mm (35mm format equivalent) by adding the optional wide-angle converter lens. The D90 is also the first Digital Single Lens Reflex camera in the world to have video recording mode or D-Movie.
