SONY Unveils MDR-NC500D – Pioneering The First Ever “Digital Noise Cancelling Headphones”

Setting a new platform in personal audio technology as one of the first pioneer in digital noise cancelling headphones in an ever demanding market, Sony Malaysia has introduced the latest MDR-NC500D digital headphone to deliver an extreme noise cancelling solution, by effectively reducing approximately 99% of ambient noise while providing a high-quality audio experience.

The secret behind its Artificial Intelligence in MDR-NC500D, is the availability of Digital Signal Processor (DSP) that ables to calculate noise frequencies fed-in by the noise-detection microphone, effectively applies the most suitable noise-cancelling mode (in-flight ambient mode, in-train ambient mode and office ambient mode) in no more than 3 seconds.

Built with lightweight materials, namely, Housing/Hanger with magnesium and “foldable & adjustable” headband with 7075 aluminium, the MDR-NC500D is only 195 grammes, comes with a built-in lithium ion rechargeable battery or optional AAA batteries compartment, to provide power handling capacity of 100mW, sensitivity of 102dB/mW, Impedance of 40 ohms at 1kHz and frequency response of 5-24,000Hz. Enhanced with 40mm drivers to offer an extended frequency response, high signal to noise ratio and excellent dynamic range, the MDR-NC500D produces an extreme efficient music reproduction as well as long lasting music comfort up to 15 hours of audio tranquillity. The MDR-NC500D also incorporates, a tangle-free single-sided cord, a thick urethane foam padding to reduce pressure and pinching on the outer ear.
