Marigold HL Low Fat Milk Produces Chinese Beauties in Miss MARIGOLD Body Beautiful 2009

 Marigold HL Low Fat Milk has organised its annual Miss Marigold Body Beautiful, subsidiary title of Miss Chinese Cosmos Southeast Asia Pageant, at Sunway Pyramid recently. Miss Ong Wei Sian, an accountant, who is 26 years of age with the height of 169cm, was crowned as the winner of  Miss Marigold Body Beautiful 2009. She has won a RM1,000 cash prize, a sash and a trophy.

This annual beauty pageant has brought in 18  Chinese beauties from Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, China, and Philippines, in which one of them will be selected as the 3 ambassadors for South East Asia. This pageant will also entitle the winners to compete in the grand finals of Miss Chinese International Pageant 2009 at the end of October in Hong Kong.

The panel of judges who summed up the the winners were, Mr.S.B. Galeri Petronas Showcases “Changing Phases” for Malaysia’s 52nd Birthday

Malaysia will be celebrating her 52nd Birthday on 31st of August 2009, and  it is timely that Galeri Petronas  has taken its painstaking efforts to showcase “CHANGING PHASES : Relative Spaces”, a unique exposition of selected artworks from the PETRONAS ART collection, which explore the development of Malaysian art practices, examining the contemporary social environment of Malaysia and its relationship with its neighbours since the 1950s.

Launched by PETRONAS’ Vice President of Human Resources, Dato’ Anuar Ahmad, at Level 3 of Suria KLCC, Petronas Twin Tower, the fascinating exhibitions showcases 44 artworks by 24 artists, starting from established artists like Latiff Mohidin, Syed Thajudeen, and Khoo Sui Hoe, the mid-career artists like,  Simryn Gill and Mad Annuar Ismail, to new generation artists Ivan Lam, Yee I-Lan, Yau Bee Ling and Roslisham Ismail, to name a few.

Curated by Shireen Naziree, this exhibition will allow art enthusiasts to visualize a journey about the development of modern Malaysia, depicting the evolution of Malaysia into a progressive nation as of today. Changing Phases : Relative Spaces, will be showcased at Galeri Petronas, Level 3, Suria KLCC,  from 7th August till 18th September 2009 (admission is free), while PETRONAS will also embark on several activities to commemorate Malaysia’s 52nd anniversary of nationhood, like revisiting of PETRONAS’ most memorable Merdeka television commercials which will be aired beginning 17 August; a joint photo exhibition organised by The Merdeka Award Secretariat and New Straits Times; distribution of PETRONAS Merdeka car stickers carrying the theme One Legacy, One Destiny, 1Malaysia; and the participation of PETRONAS’ contigent at the National Day Parade.

The Power Root ALICAFE’s Ramadhan Special

This upcoming Ramadhan month will provide a special occasion to AliCafe’s patrons as its Kelana Mall’s AliCafe outlet will be offering 3 different Buka Puasa set meals at an affordable price and “Up, Close and Personal” activities with the Ambassadors of Power Root.

The Buka Puasa Set Meals promotion (ranging from RM9.90 to RM12.90 per set) will start from 22 August 2009 onwards and the set meals comes in an appetizer comprising honey dates and some local delicacies, a main course meal comprising a choice of either Mee Mamak, Nasi Beriani with Curry Chicken or Curry Mee,  AliCafe’s signature coffee and a cold drinks.

Mercedes Benz Malaysia Charts Another Remarkable Sales Performance Amid Economic Gloom

It can be said every producer & distributor of premium passenger as well as commercial vehicles are ‘grasping’ for air to breath in this uncertain economic situations, but this does not appear the same to Mercedes Benz Malaysia. And it is not the first time that Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has performed beyond expectations, as its cars continue to produce better than expected sales for the first six months ending Jun 2009,  reflecting the optimism in  economy climate.

 “Delivering 1869 passenger cars todate, leading the pack in premium passenger cars segment, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class has more than 850 units (accounted for 42.8% rise) sold, buoyed by its sleek & sporty C-Class C230 AVANTGARDE, and the Mercedes-Benz B-Class continues to sell 148 units registering 2.1 % rise”, briefed by Mr. Florian Mueller, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s Vice President for Sales and Marketing, at Menara TM this morning.

Famous for its elegance, comfort and safety, the E-Class has once again proved to be the most favoured car in its segment with 685 units delivered, while the S-Class managed a respectable sales of 143 units.

Briefing on the strong performance of Mercedes Benz Malaysia, Mr. MJ Lim, General Manager of Mercedes Car Group Operations, explained, “the Merz always keep the value of its vehicle, while, providing the positive effect on economy, as well as the commercial vehicle residue value, that is, how much the car cost in few years down the road. It also value the customer’s ownership, as resale of Merz is one of the selling point that works well for the people”. Mr. MJ Lim also added, “the Merz is more of a brand heritage, the brand is shifting towards customer service centric, with added features, user-friendly, and the safety features, that we championed, and as we add up to total brand conclusion, we are able tip the advantage”.

In providing a token of appreciation towards its loyal  customers and a safer environment to live in, Mercedes Benz Malaysia has initiated its Consumer Safety and Child Car Seat Campaign (February), Mercedes-Benz driving Experience (on April), Nationwide F1 Openhauses (April), Paddock visit to team Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Club and pitlanes at the Sepang F1 Circuit (April), Vodafone McLaren Mercedes F1 Party (April) and Mercedes trophy 2009.

The New BHPetrol’s RON95 Unleashed

Kick or punch, do whatever you want, as BHPetrol Malaysia has unveiled its new Infiniti95 2x (RON95) fuel. Packs double punch with 800ppm of additives, this specially formulated fuel is innovatively created by German technology, to provide a more responsive, lighter and better acceleration in driving experience to all Malaysian motorists.

Speaking at its launch, which was held at Sungai Kayu Ara service station recently, BHPetrol Managing Director, Mr. Tan Kim Thiam explained, “the new fuel will offer unparallel performance with its 800ppm additives which is twice the manufacturer’s  recommended minimum treat rate. That is why the new petrol is called Double Performance Fuel, as it cleans and protects engines while  giving extra mileage and power”. Mr. Tan also added, “the Infiniti95 2x is unique, as its formulated fuel, comprises the cutting-edge detergent, anti corrosion components and Friction Modifier. The detergent cleans engine deposits built-up, while the Friction Modifier reduces frictions in the engine, thus, contributes to savings in fuel consumption”.

Present at the launch, Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism, Y.B. Dato’ Tan Lian Hoe, who echoed Mr, Tan’s sentiment by saying, “the unveiling of BHPetrol’s RON95 is one of the government’s initiatives to ensure the public to receive better quality petrol at a better subsidised price. And, BHPetrol RON95 is suitable to most types of cars on the Malaysian road, due to its capability to burnt the fuel completely, environmental friendly and reduces energy wastage”. With more than 300 retail service stations located throughout Peninsular Malaysia, the newly introduced BHPetrol RON95, which is priced at RM1.75 per litre, will be available from September 1, 2009 onwards, and at the same time phasing out the RON92 fuel respectively.

Petronas Dagangan Berhad has posted a net profit of RM581 million

On its global outlook on recovery for aviation fuel and fuel bunkering businesses, which accounted for RM2.44 billion (10%) of the company’s total revenue for financial year ended March 31, 2009, Petronas Dagangan Berhad has posted a drop in its net profit of 12.88% to RM581.76 million from RM667.78 million a year ago, while its revenue has improved 9.27% to RM24.35 billion from RM22.29 billion.

Speaking to medias, at its AGM held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Datuk Anuar Ahmad, Chairman of PetDag Bhd said,”that both aviation fuel and fuel bunkering businesses had been affected by effects of the slowing down of global economy and other external factors”. Datuk Anuar added,”the aviation industry is seeing less people travelling due to economic downturn and the H1N1 virus, while the bunkering businesses, affected by economic slowdown, sees less movement of vessels, cargo and trade, causing less demand for bunkers (bunker fuel is used in the maritime sector to power large, ocean-going vessels)”.

With a current 920 retail stations located across the nation, the company which is 69.86% owned by Petroliam Nasional Berhad as of May29, 2009, its Managing Director/CEO Mohamad Sabarudin Mohamad Amin said, “we plan to set up another 30 stations by end FY10 while RON95 fuel will be available nationwide by September this year”.
