Samsung Unveils OMNIA SGH i900-the ‘all-in-one’ Mobile Lifestyle Multi-Tasking Companion

Samsung Malaysia Electronics (SME) Sendirian Berhad, one of the most reputable semiconductor, telecommunication, digital media, and digital convergence technologies provider, has launched Samsung OMNIA SGH-i900 at Seri Carcosa Negara, Kuala Lumpur. Powered by HSDPA of 7.2 Mbps(2.1Ghz) with Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, OMNIA is equipped with 5 Megapixel, Auto Focus, Image Stabilizer, Geo-tagging, Auto-panorama shot, wide dynamic range (WDR), face detection and smile detection camera. Its video supports MultiCodec formats (DivX, Xvid and MP4), recording, editing, trimming, audio dubbing, live dubbing, add subtitle and image capture. Audio system comprise Bluetooth stereo Headset (A2DP), FM Radio with RDS and MP3.

As for its other value-added features are GPS, TouchWiz UI and MS office Document Viewer, Advanced PIM Apps, Push Email, Auto Rotation and TV Output. With a memory of 8GB/16GB flash plus external memory of microSDHC (up to 16GB) slot, the new OMNIA is enhanced with Bluetooth 2.0, USB 2.0 and Wi-Fi connectivity.

Motorola Unveils The Next Generation of ROKR Family

Motorola Inc, the global leader in mobile entertainment, launched the ROKR E8 at Laundry Bar, the Curve, Petaling Jaya recently. A multiple award winner at CES 2008, including the coveted Best CES, the ROKR E8 features the breakthrough ModeShift technology that enables users to morph from phone to music player and vice versa at the touch of a button, the quad-band GPRS/EDGE device presents users with the controls they need. ROKR E8 also marks the debut of the new FastScroll navigation wheel from Motorola, a variable-speed touch control that lets consumers to scroll easily through contents stored on the device. Windows Media Player 11 compatibility enables easy transfer of tunes from PC to the device.

The ROKR E8 with 2GB internal memory can store up to 1,500 songs, and external memory is expandable to 4GB with an optional micro SD card, along with EQ5 and EQ7 wireless speakers systems, empower users to indulge various kinds of music at any time and occasions. Hence, the “Music You” experiential launch for media participants at the Curve, showcases the unique features of the ROKR E8 in four exciting zones located at four distinctive entertainment outlets.

The first beat was the Speed Zone, with USB 2.0, swift music transfer, more than 90 songs were downloaded to the ROKR E8 in less than 3.5 minutes. At the Sound Zone, Motorola achieved its CrystalTalk technology with an outstanding voice quality, even in noisy environments by cutting out background clutter and when combined with ROKR S9 Bluetooth stereo headset, music becomes more intimate with the user, when surround sound with SRS WOW HD technology has reduced ambient noise, with the aid of redesigned ear buds. Lastly at the Mobility Zone, the medias were showcased with ‘music sharing made easy’ by streaming favorite tunes from the ROKR E8 to EQ5 and EQ7 speakers via Bluetooth or to the EQ3 via a 3.5 mm jack, filling a room with crisp stereo sound.

The EQ3 is a lightweight compact foldable speaker, that equipped with a universal 3.5mm jack is powered by four AAA batteries that last up to 12 hours. The EQ5 and EQ7 wireless speakers enable handset use as a speaker-phone that can easily connect with almost any MP3 player, PC or mobile phone via 3.5mm jack or wireless Bluetooth technology (A2DP Bluetooth profile). The Motorola EQ7 Wireless HI-FI Stereo Speaker enhanced with deep rich bass, smooth response, dynamic sound clean and robutness, is a state-of-the-art sound system includes the cutting-edge audio technology enhanced by JBL.

An explosive mini concert showcasing renowned local talents, namely, rock groups KIRI and Estranged, jazz violinist Dennis Lau and solo siren Karen Nunis Blackstone, kicked off pleasantly “Music You” night for the anxious media folks with, Dennis Lau an electric violinist belted out jazz standards and jazz-infused poop numbers, rock band KIRI comprises two vocalists invoked mesmerising performance comparison with international rock band Linkin Park and soul siren Karen Nunis Blackstone with her powerful vocals belted out rock, folk, blues, jazz and traditional Southeast Asian songs.
